In this unit I learnt about receptive skills reading and listening. I learnt about the specialist skills that must be learnt when reading or listening and what each of these skills are. I learnt the importance of choosing material/texts that should be of interest to the students not the teacher. Also that authentic texts aren't always the best to choose as they do not necessarily focus on the points you want to be focus on in your lesson.
