In pursuit of learning teaching skills teachers face a daunting task in determining actual career promoting teaching skills that are necessary to learn compared to those with sole purposes of learning for the time being. As technology and demand for innovative approaches in learning teaching skills evolve around the equal demand by educational institutes for skilled teachers growth world wide, one has to ask the question at some point, “From which source can I learn teaching skills that better equip the field of teaching I am in?” The answer is not a clear, cut and dry as we may wish it could be. A teacher has to factor in personal life, prestige, specification, expenditures, invested study time, geographic location, equipments, types of required teaching skills, work status such as ‘job’ versus ‘career’ and foremost teaching skill longevity; for example, “Is there a new skill that is unilaterally used I should know about?” The list can go on and on. First let us consider one out of the three teaching skill teachers should learn despite the kind of teacher they are, human resources. teachers can make learning much less more troublesome if they know or have the human resources available to assist in providing teaching skills respective to their field of teaching. Modern times has made it easier for many teachers to tap into human resources without devoting heaps of time in finding the right teaching skills which fit there present expertise. Many human resources are individuals we regularly come in contact as colleagues and friends. Some are people who know someone else with teaching skills unrelated to teaching english per se. The notion of learning teaching skills is far and wide away is a false one we must not earnestly search and find on our own. Many teachers with little or much experience are willing to share teaching skills they believe to be of good use if we are open to the idea to do the same. In other words, you do not only have to read books or articles on learning teaching skills as sources for sound advice. Take a look around at the human resources around you to get a good feed on what skills others have you can learn to apply in and out of classrooms you may find prudent. Most teachers have scheduled training and meeting during courses to take advantage of towards learning teaching skills with personal use of distinct intuition and good judgment. Learning teaching skills is an ongoing process when they can best be applied through first admitting there is more to learn tomorrow for tomorrow than there was in past. Another method to follow in procuring teaching skills is through self-evaluation. Critiquing is a major research teachers do in honing in on skills that come to mind throughout picking up skills valued to have. Taking mental note of skills possessed can make a difference in determining what skills you have already tried and tested against those that will further enhance skills in need of more practice or serve as a disservice for yourself and your future as a skill set. For example, knowing your strengths in distinguishing errors is a plus, however it can come as a disadvantage if overdone. With self-evaluation, learning how and when to correct can become a teaching skill that will lessen your students and your attention on parts of the lesson when catching errors is your job as a teacher yet when to do so is not as more important than having the skill to do. Why? Because there is much more during lessons requiring keen focus and varying skills at hand! For example, “Less is more”, “patience is a virtue”, “teach do not preach”, “encourage do not discourage”, your task of teaching by speaking should not play a humongous part of the whole process of students’ learning or enjoying english and much more. Lastly, the method of non-assumption with clarification is a teaching skill that will never go out of style for any teacher. By assuming what is known or expected as a teacher through preparation and practice, clarity never fails as an invaluable teaching skill to learn no matter if it is english. In summary, the foundations mentions are premises to learn how to build more technical teaching skills that a teacher will develop in time. If teachers entrench learning in whatever field they are in they will gain more from learning other dynamic teaching skills with tenacious interest in teaching while learning at the same time.
