Teaching beginners is claimed to be one of the most rewarding and enjoyable aspects of efl teaching simply because there are five categories of beginners. The first one is called absolute beginner who has no english at all. The second one is a false beginner who may have studied or have been exposed to english previously but have not retained much language. The third one is an adult beginner who often have made their own decision to learn english thus usually highly motivated. The fourth one is the young beginner who often lack motivation as they haven't made the choice to study and can not see the benefit of studying the language. The last one is beginner without Roman alphabet. This kind of learner needs a lot of work on basic literary skills and a lot of reading and writing practice. To motivate these types of learners the teacher should not over-correct
