Pronunciation and phonology is important factor of learning english. Correct intonation and articulation will vastly improve the students understanding and for others to understand them. Spoken incorrectly can change the context or the desired intentions of the intended conversation. Learning the International Phonetic Alphabet and having my dictionary on had to study and repeatedly test myself has helped me understand how I would now approach this with my future students.
