This course has been highly productive for me in several ways. For starters, the various grammar courses have been excellent refreshers that have increased my confidence in explaining and articulating english grammatical structure. Secondly, I have been able to introduce the ESA format to my classrooms with positive results. Because I have had significant opportunities to practice the format throughout the course, I have been able to use or build off some of those lessons learned in my own classroom. I have noticed that not only have my lessons been far more structured and organized, my students seem to be far more engaged and responsive to the material as well. In the future, I hope to use the lessons gained from this course to secure a teaching position that allows me more autonomy I the classroom. In Korea, many private academies create their own lesson plans that teachers are required to adhere to, often down to the very last detail, regardless of whether that lesson plan is working with the current group of students. I often find it frustrating as I get to know my students and witness their struggles with learning the english language, as I am powerless to change these pre-set lessons in order to help them. I am thankful for this course, because I have been able to apply what I have learned through the few loopholes allowed in my academy's lesson plans and have been able to see some students achieve a measure of success. Still, while I am living in Korea, I would like to try to find the opportunity to use more of what I have learned combined with several years of experience to create my own class lessons.
