During this course I have gained an understanding of not only how english is formed and used in both writing and speaking in order to teach effectively to students; but I have also gained knowledge on methods of teaching, how to establish rapport with students and how to plan a lesson in various ways such as boomerang, patchwork and simple ESA lesson plans and what stages are needed in these to create a comprehensive english lesson with all the ESA stages.
I plan to put my new knowledge into action by creating lesson plans that can be used in a classroom environment including activities such as mime and pictures to create a mutual understanding of the english language that is used both in and out of lessons, without retreating to the student’s native language or lengthy, complex explanations that a student may not fully understand.
With this knowledge I plan to use Engaging, studying, and active stages throughout lessons to devise full and informative lessons that can cater a student at any point of their journey through english, and establishing a good working relationship with students in my care.
