Personally, I feel I have gained much from this course. Before, I had felt confident in my english skills, but not necessarily in my ability to impart them to other people, especially those learning english as an additional language to their native one. Having completed the course now though, I feel as though I now have the knowledge and techniques I needed as a foundation to becoming an effective tesol teacher. From how to establish rapport with students, to managing classes and maintaining discipline, to communication techniques, up to how to plan and organize lessons effectively, I now have a great source of materials I can always draw from when planning my lessons and conducting my classes.
I plan to continue building upon the grammar that has been covered in the course materials, in order to increase my grammar knowledge. I will always take into consideration the many tips and advice available in the course materials, in addition to my tutor’s comments on my worksheets, since he has invaluable advice drawn from actual tesol experience.
