In this unit we learn about lesson planning and its functions. Not all teachers create lessons plans but it is adviced for inexperienced teachers to do a lesson plan in order to have direction and be prepared for classes. Lesson plans help a teacher to have their intentions for the class thought out beforehand and be able to achieve learning objectives. It is a good way of documenting lessons and keeping track of what materials etc you have used over the course of the teaching year. A lesson plan although it should be thorough must not be a script but a document to help with direction and timings. A teacher must be flexible enough to change their lessons plan during the class if he or she sees that the class is organically moving in another productive learning path away from the plan. Lessons plans should include learn objectives ie. What you want the students to know by the end of the lesson
