This unit has helped me understand the different tests that can be conducted in an institute to monitor the students’ progress throughout the course or at the start of each year or course unit. This will help the teacher have a better knowledge of the students’ weaknesses and strengths and will help the teacher target the lessons on subjects that were not understood so well. I personally think test are a good way to monitor the class’ progress but they must be used in moderation as the students may fear doing badly on a test and therefore make them hate the lesson or the english language. I will make sure that the tests are balanced; some being more important than others and the least important ones I will approach them with a more comfortable environment
