Evaluation and testing is an important part of teaching. It benefits both students and teachers. Placement tests will indicate the student’s level of proficiency and ability so that the student is placed in the correct level of teaching for the year. On-going evaluation in the form of progress tests will show the students and the teacher if the students are making good progress or if falling behind. Practice tests will prepare students for external exams because they imitate the format and types of questions that will be asked in the external exams. There are also the Cambridge Assessments which students can take to further advance themselves in english.
