I have seen how beneficial it is to learn how to teach english--just speaking it natively doesn't prepare one to teach others. Methodically going through grammar points, creating lesson plans, and studying how best to teach certain subjects has been very helpful. Passing on my knowledge of english to a group of students is no longer such an ambiguous, intimidating idea. This course has prepared me to know how to plan ahead and how to deal with certain topics that would have seemed impossible alone: phrasal verbs, for example. Having thought ahead about these problems will allow for better classes. Lesson planning was challenging but I appreciate having been required to plan and prepare.
