The most important thing I have gained from this course is the confidence to teach english. I now have a better understanding of the difference between being a native speaker of english and being a native speaker of english who has the confidence to teach the language. This course has offered me a wide range of skills with regard to grammar, which have given me the ability to explain certain aspects of the language, which I never thought I could. Being a native english speaker I would use the language without knowing how or why certain terms were as they were. Now I know that their are different usages and meanings for everything and I know I can always refer back to my course units to freshen up my knowledge. Also I now have the skills to make my lessons interesting and innovative by motivating my students to love and learn the english language. The tesol teaching methodology has made lesson planning very easy for me and has given me the tools to make my job fun and exciting. I am excited to get to work and to start applying what I have learnt in practice. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to teach english in a foreign country as it has helped me tremendously.
