I have learned a great deal from this class. Learning the ESA approach has really helped me to become a more effective teacher. And utilizing the lesson plan format, I have been able to better manage my time and classes are running more smoothly. I have always felt my grammar skills were quite strong but it was nice to review and definitely gave me more ideas on how to teach it more effectively. Also, I learned a bunch of new games that have come in handy when the class needs a boost of energy or I have some downtime that needs filling. And finally, being able to recognize and understand my students' needs and abilities has done wonders in my ability to teach them well.
I have started to put most of what I have learned into action already by creating more detailed and structured lesson plans. This has allowed me to not rely so much on our course books and has made class more flexible and fun. Because of this, I have seen an immediate result in my classroom and my students are more focused and learning more. It is a great feeling knowing that you were instrumental to their success.
