This unit has solidified my appreciation of the ESA approach. I can see how the different stages and activities naturally line up along with how the vocabulary is introduced - it's a very fluid process that makes sense. It keeps on bringing me back to the importance of assessment though. Are teachers keeping good records of the stages they are using and how the information is retained by the students? There is a lot that can be studied here.
