I have worked in the class room environments before and this unit was a good overview and review of how to best work with a varied group of students. Much of my work has been with teenagers and it was helpful to consider how a classroom environment might be different with adults or with younger children. I thought back too to language courses I have taken and realized that my teachers often would call on students to answer questions in a very predictable pattern and so I would spend my time figuring out how to answer my question rather than paying attention to the answers of the other students. This suited me fine since I was shy but certainly did not help me learn the language. I appreciated the points the unit made on how to vary the teaching style and use of classroom space based on the type of student and activity.
