In this unit I learned about different ways in which teachers can evaluate students. I learned that there are usually five types of tests learners will encounter. The first type of test is called a placement test. This test is used to determine a learner's level before starting a class. Once the learner starts the class the teacher can then conduct a diagnostic test to determine what aspects of the english language the learner needs to work on. Progress tests are then taken throughout the course to determine what information the learner has retained throughout the course. Practice tests are tests that teachers can give the learners so that the learners can get used to the type of questions and the format of external tests. Finally
