Because of its importance, nowadays English is taught at school to children from a young age because it is a skill that it is looked for by many employers and will be very useful in the future. At the moment it is very important to speak and understand the English language, especially because it gives you the ability to travel, work or have connections abroad in different fields and be able to communicate in a language that it is not your mother tongue with colleagues, clients, or customers. For this reason, I think that studying and knowing English will help and enhance a person’s life and career....  [Read more]

Elizaveta Pachina Teaching Ideas Traditionally, intelligence has been regarded as a unitary quantity. This narrowly limited the discriminating factor of whether a child was “smart” or “educationally adept”. Teachers could, therefore, focus the creation of their course syllabus to be built from a perspective of ascertaining the subject content to cover and how best to teach it. But the research was done by Gardner to suggest that there are different categories of intelligence and that everyone has some intelligence in every category. This post was written by our TEFL certification graduate Nicholas P. Please note that this blog post might not necessarily represent the beliefs or opinions of ITTT. A TEFL qualification of at least 120 hours is becoming a minimum requirement for many teaching positions around the world. Even those places that do not require teachers to be certified at present will likely do so in the future. The best option is an in-class TEFL course with a practical teaching component. However, a quality online TEFL course will provided a solid grounding in language concepts and teaching theory. Also read: 10...  [Read more]

Elizaveta Pachina Teaching Ideas According to David Crystal (1941), ‘Vocabulary is a matter of word-building as well as word-using.’ While this may be true and speaks to the fundamental usage of vocabulary in any language, vocabulary can also be seen as world-building. Vocabulary is ‘the body of words used in a particular language’ (Google, 2019). While the aforementioned clearly identify why it is important to teach vocabulary, this essay will try to explore it a bit further. This post was written by our TEFL certification graduate Rayon B. Please note that this blog post might not necessarily represent the beliefs or opinions of ITTT. First, let's look at what is an online TEFL course. An online course is defined as a course that uses information and communications technology (internet) for learning TEFL. Linda Dunsmore TEFL Information Some people may feel that doing a TEFL course is something for young people who want to travel and experience what the world has to offer. Whilst that is certainly the case, why should it only apply to younger people? There is no upper age limit for taking a TEFL course, and why should there be? You will find that some countries and individual companies set age limits when employing teachers; however, there are still plenty of great options for TEFL qualified teachers of all ages. Elizaveta Pachina Teaching Ideas I have always looked up to teachers regardless of the subject they master. Since we are kids, teachers become part of our lives at school. We become familiar with this role since we start attending school till we reach university and as students, we were all at some point in front of different styles of teaching methods and personalities. Whether we feel or not comfortable with a teacher, they are there to educate and to share their knowledge. The role of a teacher has significantly changed over the years and as a result of the role of the students also has been affected in some way. Teachers are part of our growth and development process which is very relevant to our lives. Kids are sent to school every day for...  [Read more]

Elizaveta Pachina Teaching Ideas It goes without saying that parents are the first teachers to their children, thus, education begins at home. Mothers and fathers together with school personnel may set up a perfect environment for a child’s balanced learning. Recent research has shown that parent involvement in their child’s school life has many positive results. For example, students whose parents participated in PTA got higher grades and test scores. They also were more likely to enroll in higher level programs and advanced classes and to achieve higher graduation rates. Apart from educational results, such students had better social skills, adapted to school life more easily and had a greater sense of personal competence and efficacy for...  [Read more]

Elizaveta Pachina Alumni Experiences In traditional teaching, teachers are not only the teachers of teaching content, the controller of the teaching process, the organizer of the teaching activities, the judges of the students’ academic achievements, but also the absolute authority. This kind of teaching style of laying too much stress on teaching by teachers instead of understanding and learning by students themselves overstretched the dominant position of teachers, ignoring the students at the center. Elizaveta Pachina Teaching Ideas When teaching, regardless of the chosen method, the first aspect to consider is how to find a way to connect with the students, because a good relationship with the learners is the foundation on which everything else rests on.
