Etiquette Asia

Asia attracts a vast number of visitors every year for business and tourism and is the top destination for TEFL teachers from all over the world. Living and working in another country is a great way to broaden your mind and experience new cultures and it is important to make yourself aware of the social norms and customs of the country and people you are visiting. This is especially true for anyone planning to live and work in a new country as an English teacher.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This content helped me realise the important of receptive skills in learning English as a second language. Given me a clear idea on how to effectively teach students while engaging, studying and activating. This unit also provided pretty concise examples on what to do during those stages. Lots of new information that will definitely benefit me in the future. The video lessons provided a strong reflection of what a good teacher and classroom environment looks like, in comparison to what an ineffective teacher and poor classroom environment looks like. I was able to reflect on what I had learned in past units to understand how teaching style will severely affect students' engagement and participation in the class.
