Why take a TEFL course?

There are many reasons to take a TEFL course, not least because it is the best way to enable you to work almost anywhere in the world as an English teacher. While there are still some countries and employers that do not require teachers to have a formal TEFL/TESOL qualification these places are gradually becoming few and far between and the days where simply being a native speaker of English were enough to guarantee a teaching job are mostly long gone. Increasingly, those hoping to teach English as a foreign language are required to have a certificate of at least 100 hours if not 120 hours.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This unit was helpful to wrap up the 120 course. It was interesting to note the differences between new groups and existing groups. Furthermore, it was helpful to learn about the importance of and how to establish a rapport with the students. I also found the material regarding large class sizes and students with differing levels within a class to be useful.Reading and listening are two important skills in English. At first,we need to understand that why should we learn to read and listen.Reading and listening are two basic skills of a language,no matter for a purpose or for entertainment, both of them can help us know about this language.Second,an English teacher should help students get to use those two skills.
