The difference between the active and passive voice is one of the more advanced topics of English grammar. Therefore, it is important for every English teacher to understand this concept.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

The unit clearly states how the teacher should conduct himself/herself when dealing with behavioral issues in the classroom. It outlines how the seating methods influence the class atmosphere and how to change it to adapt to a certain unfavorable condition during class. I also understand how the teacher can enforce discipline by being firm and polite. This unit helped reinforce my existing knowledge of the present tenses. Having taught ESL for two years now, I have seen many of the student mistakes presented in the unit. The suggestions for teaching methods will certainly help me deliver a more effective lesson in the future. I will implement the sample activate stage ideas discussed for each tense.
