The Past Tenses - Past Perfect - Teaching Ideas

This video is part of our series on the past tenses in English. In this video, we take a look at the past perfect tense and suitable teaching ideas for this tense. We'll ask our students to describe what a person in a picture had just done before the photo was taken.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This unit was good in learning about the different materials teacher may use in the classroom to effectively teach their lesson. Materials can be either textbooks or teacher made materials and both have benefits to the students. What is really important is knowing your students and the level they are in to understand what materials would best suit them. This unit covers present tense and grammer points in form, usages, typical student errors and activate stage teaching ideas. In this unit four preset tenses; the present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous are reviewed. The task sheet at the end of this unit allows me to check the understanding of this course unit.
