The Engage, study and activate technique is a unique way to structure lessons to make sure that all areas are being covered and that students are learning. For each, you start of with an engaging topic, this way the students are excited to learn what is next! Then you study, still engaging but students are putting what they have learned to test. Then activate!I think the most important concept here was learning about and contemplating the limitations of authentic materials in teaching ESL. Admittedly, while I intuitively understood that such materials aren't controlled, and thus require careful consideration for use, I'd not really considered categorizing them as such nor their limited use. I appreciate the primer!
