I found it very interesting to learn that students of different ages can have different characteristics for learning. For example, young children may have less ability to concentrate in class but respond very well to songs and games. In contrast, adult students are often well motivated to attend class and can concentrate well on tasks such as writing an essay.This unit went over teaching pronunciation and phonology. It also went into detail about the intonation and stresses of the sentences and syllables. What was interesting for me in this unit was the phonemic symbols. I learned how to read these symbols and put them into practical use. I also learned more about the mechanics of human speech and articulation.
