For me, I thought the main point in my getting this certification for tefl/TOEFL was to refresh my memory about grammar, verb tenses, rules of the language, and teaching methodologies. This was accomplished by these 20 units. Yes, these units did do this, yet even much more. I realized something important as I sweated and worried while working diligently on the units, and even felt concern about sending them into my most patient and excellent tutor. I realized even more how my own students would feel when they are doing similar exercises with worry about teacher judgments. So, the end result is one I had not imagined. I have taught for many years. Yet now, after this certification, I plan to remember this feeling of the student being tested, worried, and even unsure in my mind. I plan to use this feeling to make my lessons more interactive and as fun as they can be. I plan to try my best to remove the worry and fear of judgment from my students. And, when I start my new assignment, I will be just like my students, learning, practicing, evaluating myself, and also encouraging success in whatever form it my take. Many thanks, Peter!
