Modal verbs are very important to english as they dramatically alter the meaning of the sentence in which they are used. It is important for the student to fully understand the meaning of the different modal verbs as well as their implication under differing circumstances. Phrasal verbs can be a little tricky as the words used separately and literally can have one meaning but combined can have a different meaning as understood by our english communities. I believe getting the students to comprehend separable vs un-separable phrasal verbs may be a little difficult also.
