The information I have gained from this course is invaluable, it is also hard to quantify, as there is so much! Writing so many practice lesson plans- though sometimes tedious since it isn't for actual students- was extremely helpful. I would say it is about the only way to get any practice without being in an actual
teacher. I found out information about all different types of learners, and the types of activities and lessons that might be suitable for them and why. I would say for my personal direction in life, as becoming a
teacher of
young learners, the most informative unit for me was Unit 19, the section specifically about
young learners. It gave me a lot of information to think about, and a lot of great tips. Overall, the course is going to be very helpful to me for the rest of my teaching career, and I am sure I will refer back to my coursework and the unit materials whenever I am in doubt.
I have already put into action quite a bit of the information I have learned, considering I have already started teaching. I have began writing my own lesson plans, using a similar format to the lesson plans used in this
tefl course. In addition to that, some of the information regarding how to work with behavioral issues has come extremely in handy since I am working with
young learners, and they can be a bit of a handful. From this course, I learned how to deal with these issues appropriately and effectively. I also learned some of the possible background contributors that may cause behavioral issues, and am patient because of this. It is great to have a resource like the 20 units I've just completed.
