I have gained some great teaching tools from this course. The grammar review was very helpful as well as the review of the verb tenses. I am so pleased to have learned the ESA method of teaching. I am currently volunteering with 3 different teachers and they each have their own style, so I now understand the methods they are employing in the classroom. While learning to write a lesson plan was somewhat arduous, it is an invaluable tool to keep oneself organized and on track. There were also many great on line resources in the materials.
I intend to continue volunteering at the Literacy Connection when in the US. I will be taking over the absolute beginner class, when I complete this course. It is only two sessions per week, which is just right for me. I may be spending 3 months in mexico in the winter and will seek out volunteer teaching opportunities there.
