Although I am a native english speaker, I have learned a lot about the english language, which I may have learned a long time ago, or never learned. I have also learned many teaching skills that I have already used in the classroom while teaching the last several weeks. I will be using the teaching skills that I learned in the future as well. I have been building from the basic teaching skills to make my lessons better each time I teach. I have been in Gangneung, South Korea teaching english to 7-15 year old Korean children. When I was first starting out, in late December, I knew I wasn't a very good teacher, It was my very first time teaching to be exact. As of the last couple of weeks, I have been using everything that I have learned and read about in the course. It has made me feel more confident to teach. I also feel like I have become a better teacher since I have started the course. I'd say the most important thing I have learned is how to write a lesson plan. While I'm still not a master of writing excellent lesson plans, I think that I am improving. These lesson plans also have helped me with classroom management. Having an idea of what I'm doing before I go into the classroom helps me be more confident and feel more in control of what is going on in the classroom. The course has done many things for me, not only do I feel more confident while teaching, but it has given me many ideas to use in the classroom.
