Teaching productive skills includes the speaking and writing section of the english language. Speaking is more spontaneous and on the spot whereas writing allows the student to develop a plan to the matter he wishes to write about. Speaking requires a greater degree of fluency because the speaker does not have time to plan an answer. When teaching productive skills there are activities that focus on accuracy and fluency. Accuracy deals with producing correct language and can be taught in the study phase. Fluency deals with allowing students to be creative and experiment with the language to help them flow better.
