I found both the grammar and the teaching techniques to be incredibly helpful. At the school I currently work at, the Korean teachers have the grammar classes so I never really worried too much about it before. Every once in a while though, a student would ask me why his answer on some test was wrong or a Korean teacher would ask me about something in their book and I'd be at a loss. While I could identify what was right or wrong, I'd be hard-pressed to explain the reason behind it. Having covered some basic grammar throughout this course, I'm now better equipped to answer such questions. The teaching side of this course was also quite helpful in terms of organizing myself and my lessons better and expanding my activity repertoire. I started teaching over here without any formal training, so everything I did was based off what I had seen others do or what I had tried and found effective. Since working on this course, I've started keeping daily reports for my classes and preparing lessons with the ESA structures. Now at the end of this course, I find myself capable of producing more structured lessons and ready to deal with many esl situations I've yet to encounter.
