This course was well structured and has helped me to gain a good overview of esl teaching - I now feel more confident to begin to teach. Although I am a native english speaker, I couldn't previously remember all of the grammatical structures with enough clarity to explain them. It is definitely one thing to know a language, and another to be able to teach it. I feel now that I have a good reference base which will help me plan my lessons in a balanced, effective way. I am going to begin volunteering at a small, rural primary school in Costa Rica in the near future. I may seek a teaching job for income at a later stage - I love to travel so I'm happy to have a certification that helps me to work abroad.
