I found this unit to be very helpful in understanding and thinking of ways to teach english to student. I did not realize there are so many options. Several options I recognize from the years I was learning spanish. My spanish lessons involved audio lessons in a language lab. Those were fun as we listened to spanish sentence then repeated. Our teacher would listen in to our pronunciation. At the end of class she would hand out a review of our pronunciation and point sounds we needed a little work on. One project we did for one semester was a worksheet of an apartment building. Every week we would tell a story about the people in the apartment. We had to write it out to be handed in to be corrected and we read the story aloud to the class. That was fun and our teacher was supportive of us trying out new vocabulary. I experienced the engage phase where the teacher would begin class in spanish and we would discuss what we did over the weekend
