TEFL Courses in Kolkata | India

“Kolkata” as it’s now officially known, is famous for its literary, artistic and cultural heritage. Once India’s capital city, Kolkata is still home to exquisite buildings, museums and galleries. Held in high esteem by locals and known as the ‘City of Joy’, Kolkata offers an unforgettable experience for anyone who takes our tefl certification course here.

Along with Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, Kolkata is one of the four main cities in India. During colonial rule it was the headquarters for the British Raj and Victorian architecture of that age can be seen from many points in the city. Kolkata is also commonly referred to as India’s intellectual capital.

The city offers plenty of activities for trainees during their free time. Trainees can tour the worldwide headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission or marvel at the British-built, Victoria Monument, with its complex waterways and vibrant gardens. While there, trainees can visit one of the largest trees in the world: a 200-year-old Banyan tree with a circumference of nearly 1,000 ft.

Combine the city’s rich history with its wonderful attractions and delectable cuisine, and you’ll conclude that you’ve made the right decision to take your tefl certification course with tefl international in Kolkata.

Our TEFL training center is located in the heart of the city. The friendly atmosphere is suitable for learning: quiet, relaxing and comfortable.

With the help of our experienced training staff, you’ll deliver lessons to real EFL students who do not speak English as their native language. Students are enthusiastic and provide a supportive environment in which to learn the skills needed to become an effective teacher. In addition to the trainers and students, our office staff are helpful, diligent and will make every effort to provide you with assistance throughout your training.

We also have a high-speed Internet cafe on the premises. Use of our computers is affordable and generally available 24 hours a day. While you’ll be charged for personal use of the internet, you won’t be charged for anything related to lesson planning or updating your resume. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your laptop and we encourage you to do so.

Just a few minutes from our facilities, you will find a vast selection of cafés, restaurants and pubs, as well as a wide variety of shopping outlets. Laundry and other services are close, and public transport is affordable so getting around won’t present a problem.

Expand thin line on white background

For all input and tutorial sessions at the training location, there is only one specific dress requirement: Both men and women should have a shirt covering their shoulders. The course operates from within a school so we ask you to be mindful of this, as well as being mindful of your peers and to respect the fact that you are a visitor in another country.

During teaching practice there are specific requirements that adhere to the local dress code. All trainees are expected to dress professionally according to the following guidelines:

Women: Shoulders should be covered, blouses with sleeves are suggested. No low-cut necklines, very short skirts or bare midriffs. Open-toed shoes are acceptable, but not hiking or flip-flop sandals.

Men: Long pants, slacks or trousers are required, jeans are not acceptable. Short or long-sleeved shirts with a collar are necessary, although a tie is not required. Loafers or dress shoes are both fine, sandals are not acceptable. Long hair should always be tied back.
