Taking into consideration factors such as transfer fees, exchange rates, and transfer time, we have put together the following guide to help you make the right decision.

Teaching is not generally a lucrative profession, because in Africa we have strange financial priorities. But there are so many countries out there that make teaching quite a better living particularly teaching the English language as a foreign language. I don't think and neither do I believe that one can just wake up and call himself or herself into a particular field without training. Fully ingrained should one be, call himself or herself an English language teacher and this can not be achieved without education.

The good news is there is no real age restrictions on who can take a TEFL course and then go on to teach English abroad. At ITTT we do require you to be at least 18 years old to enroll on our courses but there are certainly no upper age limits. Over the years we have successfully trained people of all ages, many of whom have gone on to have successful careers as English language teachers. As long as you are a native or near-native English speaker who is keen to learn new skills and is open to new ideas, then your age should be no barrier to your success. Although a large number of new TEFL graduates are in their 20s, it doesn't mean they are always the most sought after by employers. Every year, thousands of Americans embark on their adventure of teaching English abroad. Many of them dream of living in Europe but are deterred by the seemingly unfavorable visa regulations and they head to Asia or Latin America instead. While it is true that a lot of employers in European countries prefer to hire teachers with an EU passport to avoid having to organize a work visa for those from other countries, there are other ways to legally work in Europe as an American English teacher. Here is our how-to guide for Americans to teach English in Europe.

What is volunteer teaching? In my opinion, it is bringing justice to our life. The modern world is made up of contrasts, though it is difficult to realize when living in civilization. But despite the fact that many countries are developing very quickly, there are still many places in the world where people live in much less favorable conditions.
This, of course, relates to many areas of life: ecology, medicine, the opportunity to get a job, working conditions and wages. At the heart of many of these points is the most, in my opinion, important one – an education. It depends on education what children will grow up in any country. Therefore, many teachers from civilized countries decide to use their educational... [Read more]
