teachers need materials to supplement the learning that is going on in the classroom. These materials can be either created or authentic. While authentic materials will provide a more realistic example of the language they may not be suited for the level of the studenets or be wholley relevant to the course. Created materials like what can be found in coursebooks or fabricated by the teacher herself can tend to feel forced on the students and if depended upon too much can lead to a boring class.
