I agree with this unit that speaking tends to be the area that is often glossed over in english classes. This is based on my experience thus far teaching english in japan. That being said I feel as though it is an important part of reading and the two go hand in hand. Writing skills are particularly important to develop starting at an early age as a means to form good longstanding habits.
